Silbat selected for the 3rd Cohort of Spain’s Desafia London Programme in the United Kingdom

The UK boasts a mature cleantech ecosystem, a thriving innovation scene, and robust investment opportunities, making it one of the most pivotal markets for cleantech globally. In 2022, venture capital investments in the UK’s cleantech sector broke records for the second consecutive year.

The Desafía London Immersion Programme, the first clean and climate tech-led initiative offered by Desafía, provides startups with an unparalleled opportunity to immerse themselves in this dynamic ecosystem. Traveling to London, Cambridge, and Oxford, participants engage with leading academics from the renowned Cambridge Institute of Sustainable Leadership (CISL) and gain invaluable insights from the forefront of innovation.

During the two-week programme, participants network with investors, local entrepreneurs, and industry experts, attend workshops and seminars, and explore the latest trends in innovation. Tailored to the specific needs and priorities of the selected cohort, the programme ensures participants gain relevant and practical knowledge.

Silbat was honored to be chosen for the 3rd cohort of 10 Spanish cleantech startups participating in the Desafía London Programme from May 13th to 24th. Ignacio Luque, our CEO, represented Silbat and engaged in a broad array of seminars, workshops, and pitching events across Cambridge, Oxford, and London.

The programme is facilitated by Cambridge Cleantech, the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), and Oxfordshire Greentech. Cambridge Cleantech, the UK’s first and leading climate tech and cleantech ecosystem enabler, offers global reach and connections. The University of Cambridge’s CISL provides executive training, policy insights, and research facilitated by top-tier academic and professional leaders. Founded in 2019, Oxfordshire Greentech operates through a collaborative partnership including the Low Carbon Hub, Cherwell District Council, Bioregional, Oxford City Council, the University of Oxford, and Oxford Brookes University.

Desafía London, a public initiative sponsored by ICEX and Red.es, supports Spanish technology companies in scaling rapidly and globally.
