Silbat Energy showcases its innovative technology at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid

We recently had the pleasure of visiting the Master's Program in Renewable Energy in Thermal Systems at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, where our team, including Ignacio Luque-Heredia, PhD, SMIEEE, and Rafael Molinero Sanz, presented our groundbreaking technology: Energy Storage in Molten Silicon.

Advancing Energy Storage Solutions

During the seminar, we explained how our innovative technology allows for the storage of electricity generated from renewable sources as high-temperature thermal energy for extended periods. By utilising molten silicon as a storage medium, we are opening new avenues for managing the variability of renewable energy, paving the way for more flexible and decarbonised energy systems.

Engaging Future Engineers

The seminar provided a unique opportunity not only to showcase our technology but also to emphasise our commitment to research and development. At Silbat, we are dedicated to

addressing one of the most significant challenges in the energy transition: large-scale long- duration energy storage solutions.

We were particularly inspired by the students' enthusiasm as we shared how ideas born of research can transform into technologies with substantial industrial and social impact.

Gratitude for Support

We extend our heartfelt thanks to professors Andrés Anca Couce, Antonio Soria-Verdugo, and Antonio Acosta Iborra for inviting us to share our work. Engaging with such an intelligent audience was a rewarding experience for us, and we are excited to have contributed to the growth of the next generation of engineers.

As we look ahead, we are eager to see where these young minds will take their journeys.
