Silbat, one of the 14 (out of 396) projects selected at the Energia Positiva+ contest

The organizers look for Spanish startups developing disruptive proposals for a new carbon-free energy paradigm.

Energía Positiva + is an urgent call promoted by energy companies Enagás, Red Eléctrica, CLH, Iberdrola, BP, EIT InnoEnergy, Acciona, Capital Energy and DISA to help mitigate the economic and social impact of COVID-19 from an energy perspective and through innovation.

Through this initiative and its corporate venturing vehicles Enagás Emprende (Enagás), Exolum (CLH), Perseo (Iberdrola), BP Ventures (BP), EIT InnoEnergy, I’mnovation (Acciona), Capital Energy, the technology company of Red Eléctrica and DISA, financial support will be given to startups/scaleups with innovative projects related to sustainable mobility, decarbonization and sustainability, social impact, digitalization and 4.0; that can contribute to mitigating the economic and social effects of COVID-19 in Spain.

396 proposals were received in just 13 days, with only 14 being selected, Silbat’s among them. The companies promoting Positive Energy+ will complete their analysis in the next phase. Then, each of them will close a collaboration agreement with at least one startup/scaleup before the end of May, which may sometimes be a joint agreement between several corporations. The projects finally chosen will receive support from the companies for the development of the project through funding and/or by making their innovation, investment, commercial development and structure tools available to them.
